Bags

TO SINGLE STRAP OR NOT  Tuesday 18th of March 2008
I have been surprised at the way the dual-strap innovation on golf bags has been received. For some of you it is the only way to carry a golf bag to ensure your back carries the weight evenly, while for others it is an inconvenience that complicates pick-up and put-down. So we’ve invested in both for the shop, again at sensational prices, to give you the choice.

GAME IMPROVEMENT TECHNOLOGY - DRIVERS Tuesday 18th of March 2008
As we approach season many golfers will think about the technology in their bag. As always, chat to me (via email) before making any decisions – whilst there is technology that is available to improve your game, there is a lot of it, and much of it won’t suit your game.

DRIVERS – IMPROVING YOUR GAME OFF THE TEE Sunday 01st of June 2008
Drivers used to be designed from heavy steel or wood, solid or thick-walled heads and steel or hickory shafts. In the past I can understand that Drivers were not the most favoured club in the bag but with the newest releases you should feel added confidence on the tee.

LONG LIVE THE FAIRWAY WOOD  Tuesday 18th of March 2008
Over the last two years the Fairway Wood has not received the coverage or publicity that it deserves. There is a feeling that it is being squeezed out between the large 460cc headed Drivers that allow you to be so much more accurate off the tee and the easy to hit, high trajectory hybrid.

KEEP YOUR BALANCE!!! Tuesday 18th of March 2008

SELECTING THE CORRECT SET MAKE-UP Sunday 01st of June 2008

IT USED TO BE ONE-PIECE CAST vs. FORGED Tuesday 18th of March 2008
Currently the better manufacturers are creating what they call ‘discretionary weight’. That is weight that can be saved from one area of the golf club and then placed in another area that will help the golfer hit the ball straighter, further, more often.

FORGED FEEL, SOUND and CONSISTENCY Sunday 01st of June 2008
Last week I spoke about forged irons, I removed the misconception that forged irons are only for the Pros and explained the benefits they can offer for all handicap levels. New manufacturing processes have allowed brands such as Mizuno to produce cavity back irons that are forged… perfect to take your game to the next level.

EVER THOUGHT OF USING FORGED IRONS? Sunday 01st of June 2008
There’s a common misconception that forged irons are only for better players. This is because it is easier to produce cavity back irons from the cast method than the forged method, so in the past, most blade and muscle back irons were forged.
