MORE LEGAL DISTANCE NOW 2008-03-18

I’m sure you’ll appreciate how much larger the Driver head is today with the inevitable increase in the sweet spot area.

Now add the fact that the face on this modern Driver will flex and then spring out sending the ball still further. This is the COR rating that the USGA and R&A are ensuring is limited to 0.083.

Far enough? Not a chance. The 2006 models from the leading manufacturers all strived to give you the best launch conditions. You could purchase the best launch angle with the optimum spin rate, to ensure that your golf ball ‘hang time’ was increased and the trajectory encouraged greater roll.

Far enough? Well 2007 has certainly seen some adjustment and the introduction of geometric features designed to improve accuracy. But it won’t stop there. The manufacturers know that you are looking for the silver bullet. The easy, off the shelf solution to further, straighter, more often.

But here’s the thing. Match your loft to your swing speed, and your distance will improve. Match your shaft strength to your swing speed, and your distance (and accuracy) will improve. Match your golf ball to your swing speed and type, and your distance (and accuracy) will improve.

Release your hands effectively through the golf ball at impact on a good swing shape and plane and your distance AND accuracy will improve.

Some of this is very quick and easy for me to do with you. Some of it may take a little effort. But I can almost guarantee that I can increase both the distance and accuracy of almost all golfers.

Are you going to wait for the next great thing in the hope that it will improve your golf game, or are you going to do something about it now. Let me make sure your current Driver and your swing is working for you and improve your golf in 2008.
